Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association

Modernizing the Digital Platform for the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association

This project began with a referral from my longtime client Zachary & Sons, and quickly evolved into one of the most ambitious, tech-forward platforms I have developed for a professional association in New Mexico.

Working with the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association, I helped create a public-facing digital platform designed to support builders, contractors, suppliers, homeowners, event visitors, and association members throughout Northern New Mexico.

A WordPress Platform That Does More Than Display

The project started with a responsive, SEO-optimized WordPress website that highlights the region’s best homebuilders, contractors, trades, and allied services. But this was not just a basic brochure site — it was engineered to grow with the Association, its members, and the housing industry it represents.

AI-Powered Professional Matching

I integrated LearnChurn, my licensed AI matchmaking software, into the platform’s core functionality.

Visitors can use natural language input, such as “I need someone to remodel my kitchen before fall,” and receive smarter, more relevant results from a growing database of local building professionals. This creates a faster, more intuitive experience than traditional search or static directory browsing.

Custom “Find a Pro” Tools That Are Easy to Manage

To support the Association’s internal team, I built a flexible system for managing professional listings, categories, search data, and member visibility.

  • Custom database layer synced with WordPress
  • Administrative tools for updating member and business profiles
  • Smart filtering system where keywords narrow down live results
  • Bulk import and export tools using Excel-friendly formats
  • Search-friendly listing structure for better SEO performance

This empowers the Association team to keep listings updated while helping members appear in more relevant searches across Google and the platform itself.

Stronger Visibility for Builders and Industry Professionals

One major goal was to help Association members gain better online visibility, especially builders, contractors, and service providers who may not have strong standalone websites of their own.

By creating optimized profile pages, structured directory content, and searchable member data, the platform gives professionals another powerful way to be discovered by homeowners, buyers, event visitors, and people researching building services in Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico.

Map Mode + Parade of Homes Experience

The platform also supports interactive event experiences, including tools designed for the Association’s Parade of Homes promotions and visitor engagement.

  • Filter and explore Parade of Homes listings
  • View homes, builders, and nearby points of interest on a map
  • Add homes, restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, and parking areas to a trip plan
  • Save and share custom itineraries
  • Generate more efficient routes for exploring homes and local destinations

These features help turn the Parade of Homes from a traditional event listing into a more interactive, location-based experience for visitors, builders, sponsors, and the broader community.
